NRM leaders in Kasese write to Museveni over election loss
By Walakira on August 13, 2012
The ruling party (NRM) supporters in Kasese district have written a tough letter to president Museveni over Kasese woman MP by elections loss. The ruling party candidate, Rehema Muhindo lost the polls last week to FDC’s Winnie Kiiza.
The letter the people of Kasese sent to Museveni reads as follows and it was signed by one Masereka Zeno, one of the NRM chairpersons in Kasese district.
“Greetings to you your Excellency the president of Uganda,
As you absorb the Kasese by-elections shocking defeat, we as people of Kasese demand the following for your party NRM to survive in the district till 2016:
Construct our Kasese airport, give our young graduates jobs, put medicines and staff in all our health centres, give us our share of the state house scholarships, let your Bahima grazers return our cultivators land, tame them (Bahima) to stop insulting our OBR (Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu) cultural institution i.e stop tribal favouritism in the district, tarmac all our feeder roads, remove your mockery NAADS program and replace it with support to community-led farming initiatives. Relax youth fund rules, improve the quality of primary and secondary education, increase civil servants salaries, and anoint and groom your 2016 successor who should never be Dr. Kiyonga or Amama Mbabazi. You should not even stand for presidency in 2016 …votes will still be for your NRM party.
Kind regards
Masereka Zeno
