The Democratic Party (DP) has congratulated Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) upon winning the recent woman MP by-elections in Kasese. The Kasese woman MP race was won by FDC’s Winnie Kiiza on Wednesday last week. Ms Winnie trounced both DP’s Rosemary Masika and NRM’s Rehema Muhindo.

The Secretary General of DP, Mathias Nsubuga says that DP shares Kiiza’s election victory because she is a member of opposition.  Nsubuga also congratulated the DP candidate in the race, Ms Masika, saying that DP had lasted participated in any parliamentary election in Kasese in 1980s. The secretary general says that although Masika never won the race, she exhibited the spirit of DP.
