Eid el-Fitr is a celebration to mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan. Millions of Muslims in Uganda and across the world marked Eid El Fitr on Sunday and at different mosques around Uganda, at least the believers were advised to stick to the foundations of Islam.

But it seems Uganda is one of or the only country in the world where Muslims celebrate Eid together with Christians. In Uganda it is a little bit difficult to differentiate a Muslim and a non Muslims because most Ugandans feel free to say ‘Assalam alaykum wa-rahmatulahi wa-barakatuhu!, say ‘insha Allah in their speeches and to shop for Eid el fitr or eid aduha.

In Kampala, Uganda’s capital city, one may misinterpret a catholic to a Muslim girl, because even some catholic girls cover their heads like Muslim girls. Now isn’t Uganda the only Christian nation where both Christians and Muslims celebrate Eid and observe some of the Islamic teaching together?
