Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) now affects an estimated 20 per cent to 30 per cent of the United States of America (USA) population.
Although it is said that the women in USA are two times more likely than men to seek treatment for Irritable bowel syndrome, it is thought that men and women are affected in equal numbers.
