Uganda Cranes’ preparations for the Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia have suffered a set-back after Sudan pulled out of a friendly scheduled for this weekend in Kampala.
Unconfirmed reports indicate the Sudanese have instead opted for a friendly against a West African country.
This once again leaves Cranes to face Zambia in the Nations Cup qualifier on October 13 without playing any international friendly.
This is not the first time a Cranes’ scheduled friendly is called off at the 11th hour this year.
A friendly against Egypt was aborted in the run-up to Angola and one away to Malawi fell through before Uganda travelled to Zambia for the first leg.
But Cranes coach Bobby Williamson believes this will not affect the team’s preparations.
The Cranes continue training at the Namboole side pitch ahead of the crucial game next weekend.
