The ministry of health has advised pregnant mothers to always to go for antenatal checks to ensure they have normal births.
The call comes at a time when the ministry’s statistics indicate that 16 women are still losing their lives on a daily basis while giving birth.
The primary health coordinator at the ministry Albert Kasozi says maternal mortality can be reduced once all pregnant mothers follow what medical workers recommend.
Kasozi adds that antenatal clinics help health experts identify complications in pregnant women and progress of the fetus.
