UN asks East Africa states to help South Sudan

The UN is asking the Ugandan government and all the other East African Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization member countries to send police experts to South Sudan and help strengthen security in the young nation.

The call was made by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Hilder Johnson while addressing regional police chiefs meeting at the Commonwealth Resort in Munyonyo.

She said South Sudan deserves all the help from her neighbours because its stability is crucial for regional security.
