As Uganda prepares to host the COMESA business forum, the private sector is asking government pronounce itself on joining the COMESA free trade area before hosting the summit
The private sector in partnership with government is hosting the 8th COMESA business forum scheduled for 20 November this year.
The two day conference is aimed at addressing issues like the African business landscape through free trade across Africa, how to do business with the first world through competitiveness in agriculture, tourism and many others.
However the Private Sector Foundation Uganda says although Uganda has got the opportunity to host the summit it is not yet in the COMESA free trade area agreement.
The executive director Gideon Badagawa says this is the perfect time to join the free trade area because it will boost growth of intra African trade.
