Buikwe district leaders are asking investors interested in power production at Irumba falls along River Nile to take it over immediately.
Speaking during an investors forum, the district LCV chairman Mathias Kigongo said an estimated 120 megawatts of power is expected to be generated, once these falls are utilized.
The irumba falls are located near the newly commissioned Bujagali hydro power project.
The forum attended by a number of investors and cooperate bodies was organized by the district woman member of Parliament Dorothy Mpiima to give high lights of different investment opportunities in Buikwe.
Mpiima said that the district also needs investors in the Education, Tourism, Hospitality and health sectors.
She adds that the investor’s forum will become an annual event on the district calendar as a tool for evaluating development in the area.
