The ministry of disaster preparedness has called for the partnership with the civil society organizations in efforts to fight effects of climate change.
The call was made by the state minister for disaster preparedness and refugees Musa Ecweru at the opening of the climate change justice hearing tribunal in kampala.
Minister Ecweru says although a number of stakeholders are undertaking different interventions in addressing climate change, lack of coordination and cooperation is undermining the successes.
He further appeals to the players to reach out to the rural people with a similar message of environmental protection so that they are involved in the disaster risk reduction and management.
The workshop was organised by the African women economic policy network under the theme “advocating for mitigation and adaptation of strategies of the impact of climate change in the livelihoods of women and other marginalized groups.”
