Kibuku County MP Saleh Kamba has complained that someone could be using the police to witch-hunt him over his success in politics. Without mentioning names, the MP says that the force follows him wherever he goes and it doesn’t tell him why he does so.
MP Kamba on Thursday this week survived spending a night in police cell following his arrest over allegations of having forged academic papers from Makerere University he presented for his parliamentary nomination in 2011.
The police released him on police bond after he recorded a statement at the Police Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Kireka, a Kampala suburb. The police suspects that MP Kamba issued false academic documents to seek re-election in the 2011 general parliamentary elections in Pallisa district for which he emerged winner.
