PEAS is a UK-based charity with a mission to ‘unlock the potential of Africa by delivering equal access to affordable, quality secondary education’. We currently have a network of 22 schools across Uganda and Zambia, educating around 8,000 students.
Education Consultants primarily work within the PEAS Uganda Education Department, but are required to take a flexible attitude towards their work. Education Consultants are sometimes required to build capacity in other areas of PEAS work where they are willing and suited. Full job descriptions will be created for each of the Education Consultant prior to the placement.

Purpose of role

1.
Launching new PEAS schools
•
Support the PEAS Human Resource Manager with the recruitment of school Director and Headteachers
•
Design and deliver some of the training modules for the train
ing and induction of Directors and
Headteachers
•
Support the PEAS Uganda team with the pre
–
term school marketing and community engagement work.
2.
Education responsibilities
•
Support the PEAS Education Department to develop policies, procedures and process
es to drive the
quality of education in the PEAS network of schools. This will involve using data to analyse strengths and
weaknesses and working in a consultative and collaborative manner to create strategies to improve
education quality.
•
Work within a
PEAS Inspection team to conduct the PEAS annual education inspections across the
network.
•
Create Inspection reports and work with the Education Department and SLTs to develop SMART School
Improvement Plans.
•
Design and deliver training sessions for teac
hers and school leaders at the annual PEAS Conference as
and the termly school leaders’ workshops.
•
Support the day
–
to
–
day activities of the Education Department and contribute to ongoing projects e.g
.
curriculum review, developing a CPD framework, deliver
ing training on best T&L practices to
Headteachers and teachers, developing education policies and procedures.
