In medical language this is what we call an endocrine problem. Whoever is suffering this problem should see an endocrinologist for an appropriate treatment.
The doctors tell us that sometimes there is imbalances of certain hormones in a person’s body — most a hormone that stimulates breast development and milk production in women, which could be the source of milk discharge from women’s breasts.
Also there is a problem of polycystic ovaries before. Have you ever heard them before? They could be related to the discharge. There are various stages in a woman’s life cycle, where change in hormonal level occurs. The body responds to changes in various ways such as lactation without pregnancy. The doctors say that in this case the breasts start lactating if the amount of prolactin rises beyond its usual limits.
They say that prolactin does not just cause a woman’s body to increase milk production; it also affects ovulation and menstrual cycles. (Prolactin reduces two hormones, which are essential for ovulation: follicle stimulating hormone and gonadotropin releasing hormone.
When women have high levels of prolactin in their blood (a condition we in medical science call hyper prolactinemia), they are most likely not to ovulate hence infertility. Reduction of hormones necessary for ovulation can also cause irregular cycles.
