Development partners in uganda call for Adolescence policy.

Development partners are strongly urging govt to fully implement the adolescent policy that has been laying in the health ministry shelves for more than five leaving the group lacking some of the services they should have accessed if the policy was in place.

The international program manager at DSW, Tusiime Bernard mentions that currently adolescents in the country are finding it difficult to access health packages from health facilities which has put their lives in danger and its only the policy that will kick start a new phase of better life for the group.

However, he states that failure to have the policy to cater for the adolescents on the other side makes govt incur extra expenses in attend to emergency health complication at higher costs to make the adolescents have their lives.

Uganda has today joined the rest of the world to mark the global day on safe motherhood with the national celebrations in the norther district of Apac.
