Same sex relationships are still illegal in Uganda as it is in many African countries. Lesbianism and homosexuality are punishable by imprisonment for life or for up to over 14 years. All most every person in Uganda and Africa in general is against homosexuality, lesbianism and bestiality. The practices, though praised by the Europeans, in Africa they are looked at as immoral and unGodly.
The Republic of Uganda proposes a death penalty for people, who are offenders, and those who engage in aggravated homosexuality/lesbianism. The move by Uganda to resist homosexuality and other ‘immoral’ practices received criticism from European governments some of whom threaten to cut off financial aid to Uganda.
In what now looks like a bid by European powers to sell homosexuality to Ugandans by force, many Europeans come to Uganda with money and lure young Ugandans into homosexuality.
For example two British nationals have been charged with using money to lure youths into homosexuality in Uganda. They are Bernard Randell, a retired banker, and his colleague Albert Chepeoyek. They appeared before the Entebbe Magistrates Court where they admitted to engaging in homosexuality. Many British people have been arrested in different African countries for committing acts of gross indecency and trafficking obscene materials.
