The women movements in the country have set new tough demands for the Pakistan community as well as the owners of YUASA car depot that include, immediately producing the suspects publically, disassociate themselves with such acts, compensating the victim, closure of the car bond, explain the entry and recruitment of the suspect for work at YUASA among others.
Irene Ovongi Odida of FIDA-uganda, Rita Akiro of UWONET, and Dr. Thelma Awor of the institute for social transformation say, the Pakistan community should take the matter serious and also apologies to the nation for the inhuman acts that were inflicted on the 23 year old woman.
They also warn that if nothing cooperative is done by the community and the owners of the YUASA bond then they will be forced to take further action.
In a heated up joint press conference the consulate of the Islamic republic of Pakistan to Uganda Dr. Bonny Katatumba committed full support to see to it that the culprits are brought to book as well as footing the medical bills of the victim.
In a related development, one of the owners of the YUASA car bond, Basit Hassan and the chairman of the Pakistan community in Uganda Tarik Jared condemn the act and confirm that they are hunting for the suspects atlarge as well as pledging to offer more assistance to the victim including offering her another job.
