Amama Mbabazi warns against destroying Museveni’s portraits

Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi has warned people to stop the habit of destroying president Museveni’s portraits. He has described the habit as political immorality.

Paul Omoko, the town clerk of Mbale municipality, is still under fire from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for allegedly vandalizing President Yoweri Museveni’s portrait.

The NRM government accuses Omoko of using mercenaries to destroy the portrait which was placed on the roof of their offices on plot 60, Naboa road.

Omoko says that building had been declared illegal and authorisation to demolish it was given. But Amama says the town clerk would have sought prior permission to demolish the portrait of the president.
