seven people were struck by electricity in heavey rain fall which
lasted for 3 hours in mitooma town council over the weekend.
as they were escaping against lightening and looking for shelter during a heavy down
pour at Bwibare primary school which is a government school
at ward 1 in mitooma town council
The Residend District Commissioner Mitooma districts Safiki Sekande identified the deceased as
; Niyonzima 22 years , Kanabahita from Kabira national, Mahirwe
Nelson 40 years.
Hassan mugume 20 years both pygmies and Agaba Nelson a
pupil of the same school and they all died on spot.

Sekande confirmed that all the injured were rushed to mitoma hospital
for treatment as the dead were also taken to the hospital mortuary for
postmortem.

He urged the school’s administration to always put
lightening arr esters to control it.

He asked headteachers to make tree planting in school compulsory to prevent problems like lightening
