Robbers in Kampala and other parts of Uganda reportedly collude with private guards and sometimes with some police personnel to robber foreign banks in Kampala. The robbers are so technical. They elude security alarms of foreign banks, cut locks, break into cash safes and walk away with billions of shillings. Last week unknown thugs broke into Bank of Africa and stole over 400 million shillings. The money was for the bank customers.
Police in Kampala say that they are following up the thugs whom we have told you that they broke into Foreign Banks and steal peoples money. The latest foreign bank the thugs broke into was bank of Africa which they attacked on Sunday.
The bank had two private guards and we hear it also had two policemen. But the police say that it is only the private guards who are the prime suspects. The security guards are on run. The suspects have been identified as Godfrey Kabonero and Muwanguzi Ismail.
Ibin Senkumbi, the Kampala police spokesman, says that the robbery on foreign banks is usually discovered the next day by the bank staff.
