The secretary to the treasury keith Muhakanaizi and the director budget Kenneth Mugambe emphasize that govt is expeditiously phasing out the system of paying cash to public servants and contractors and introducing the integrated persons pay roll system where all govt employees will have their salaries and gratuities wired to their accounts directly.

The system that starts this month is geared at cracking down on paying for ghost workers who are illegally put on the govt pay roll something that costs govt a lot.

The treasurer secretary adds that through the vigorous donor- govt talks on accountability and transparency, now donor partners have started releasing funds to govt amounting to UGX.126Bn following govt efforts to refund the stolen donor monies totaling to UGX.58BN
