The minister for disaster, refugees and relief, Hilary Onek has confirmed that over 10,000 DRC refugees have crossed into Uganda following renewed fighting between the govt troops and the two rebel groups mentioning M23 and M18.
Addressing the press in Kampala this afternoon, Onek states that 6000 refugees have crossed into Uganda through Koboko and over 5000 have crossed into Uganda through Bundibugyo.
He says that govt and relief agencies are working hard to settle them in refugee camps as they take their particulars.
Meanwhile the UPDF vows to continue to prosecute all Army officers who are implicated in the negligence of their duty while in Somalia to avoid tarnishing Uganda’s Image.
The forces spokes person, Col. Paddy Ankunda tells journalists that the officer implicated in the illegality have been lined up in the court martial and will have to face all the charges and punishment for failure to man their duties professionally
