Chronic Sinusitis signs and symptoms

 

Sinusitis is often triggered by an upper respiratory tract infection, whose cause may be viral, bacterial and fungus. Viral sinusitis is the most common and usually resolves within 10 days. It mostly results from the common cold virus or flu.

However there are viruses which affect the rest of the body, hence sinuses. The following signs and symptoms may be present on a person living with sinusitis for at least 8 weeks. They include congested, puffy face; blocked nose and nasal cavity has pus.

Other signs and symptoms of chronic sinusitis are a high temperature (fever), nasal discharge, discolored postnasal drainage, headache, halitosis (bad breath), tiredness and toothache.
