A new report says ,84 % of children grossly abused in uganda.

The African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) Uganda chapter a child advocacy NGO has today released a report indicating that 84% accounting for over 8000 children in the northern, eastern and some central parts of the country aged between 8 to 16 have under goen various forms of violence, torture among other abusive acts.

The report by ANPPCAN continues to highlight that in the districts of Gulu, kitgum, Iganga, kamuli among other reveals that 73% children were attending school while 27% were out of school and 8% of the children in Rakai, Arua, Mukono, Jinja among other districts had been forced to have sex with 24% had been talked to sexually.

The executive director, ANPPCAN, Anslem Wandega confirms that little has been done by many parents to help save these children form such gross abuses with local and cultural leaders having little knowledge about the way to help and interpret the laws of children to save them from such violence.

Now ANPPCAN challenges govt to review and set up better children laws to protect them from such gross abuses
