Police bans street prostitution

The police in Uganda have banned street prostitution because the sex traders spread AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
The Kampala Metropolitan police chief, Andrew Kaweesi banned street prostitution that sky rocketed the streets of Kampala over the years-due to poverty and failure by the government in Kampala to create jobs for its citizens as much of the money meant to start off industries is usually stolen by state officials.
The police commander says that according to the reports which police have been receiving there is an increase in crime in murders, robbery, money laundering, fire arm tracking and theft carried out of prostitution.

However, some of the prostitutes we talked to on Kampala streets vowed to continue with their thigh trade until the government creates them employments.
