Police in Uganda have continued with its brutality and violation of human rights. Eight students from Precious College are injured and rushed to Hospital today after being shot reportedly by Uganda police and other security agencies. The police and other men who were in army uniforms fired bullets and teargas into the school injuring over 30 students.
Another 24 students from the same school were transferred to another school to sit for their final S6 Exams as Precious College was caught in battle line between the poor residents of Kasokoso village in Wakiso district and president Museveni’s armed forces over land grabbing.
The Violence broke out at 7:00am East African time at Kasokoso after the residents engaged the Police in running battles protesting the arrest of men who had earlier protested the government plan of grabbing land from residents without compensation.
In the fracas the Police also injured six people who were rushed to Mulago hospital with bullet wounds. Scores of other sustained with minor respiratory difficulties after being fired tear gas.
The area Member of Parliament, Ibrahim Nganda, condemned the increased police brutality on civilians.
