Uganda is still a member of international criminal court and is not
about to withdraw as it has been alleged by many Ugandans.
The assurance was made by the prime minister also leader of government business Amama Mbabazi while responding to mps concerns raised following the president’s statements on ICC.
Mbabazi said that Uganda respects the ICC and that’s why it was the
first to open a case with the same court.
He also said that Uganda is also a signatory to the Rome statute and
so there is no intention for Uganda to withdraw.
He says that some statements might have been made but those statements were meant to collect the mistakes at ICC.
President Yoweri Museveni has been moving African forums decampaigning the ICC.
