Of recent former media ace, Andrew Mwenda has adopted the propagation of the myth of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government’s strength and the weakness of the opposition.
Number 1: While he says the NRM is divided, he further alleges that the opposition (especially the Forum for Democratic Change) is hopelessnessly divided.
Mwenda claims that NRM being in power is capable of keeping its members on course. Yet poor opposition members don’t have an ideological cohesion. But Mwenda still doesn’t tell whether NRM has the ideological cohesion.
Number two: According to Mwenda, the NRM always comes together when they feel external threats. But Mwenda still doesn’t tell why the NRM did not get together when there was a bi-election in Kasese, Bushenyi, Kalungu and Bukoto west constitutuency in Masaka.
Also Ugandans don’t see NRM coming together in the Universities and College guild elections that are usually won by opposition candidates.
