Councilors demand payment from Museveni before they eject Lukwago

President Museveni has reportedly met the councilors of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and finalised mechanisms under which they will vote out of office the Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago.

Museveni wants the councilors to vote out Lukwago after the probe committee found him guilty of misconduct, abuse of office and incompetence. The tribunal against Lukwago was instituted by Kampala Minister Frank Tumwebaze to probe his conduct. The report was handed over to Tumwebaze on Thursday in Kampala and it gave the minister 14 days to start the process of removing Lukwago from his office.

While meeting Museveni, the councilors demanded 100 million shillings each to eject Lukwago. However one of the councilors who attended the meeting alleges that Museveni zeroed on giving them 25 million shillings each. The councilors against Lukwago reportedly received this money in cash.
