In today’s news piece, we analyse the evolution, causes, impacts and agendas behind school boarding sections introduced in Uganda and Africa by colonial masters to Colonies. Before the introduction of formal education, Uganda and Africa at large had its own good education system which helped children to inherit their cultural norms, virtues, customs and behavior.
The colonial masters (from England, France, German, Portugal, Belgium and Italy) became jealousy of the good African education system and norms … of African children-and they looked for all the ways possible they could detach African children from African cultural norms and behavior.
One of the ways of diluting African culture was the introduction of single sexed schools and colleges. About 70% of single sexed schools around the world are in former colonies of England, France, German, Portugal, Belgium and Italy. Also about 65% of the boarding schools in the world are found in former colonies of the Europeans. The colonial masters wanted to burry African cultures in diversity which shaped children to dissents citizens. The latest news we get from Europe is that the whites current use boarding schools, especially single sexed schools to promote homosexuality and lesbianism. Boarding schools and single sexed schools in many African countries have led to cultural degradation, materialization among school going children, hate for African cultures and becoming parrot like professors thus neocolonialism taking center stage.
