Causes of macular degeneration/ eye failure

Macular degeneration: The macular is the part of the eye that allows it to use detail in the centre of our vision field.

When the macular breaks down or is damaged, fine work like reading, sewing and painting becomes difficult or impossible.

Macular degeneration is caused by aging, smoking, a diet that is low in antioxidants which fight free radical damage, arteriosclerosis [hardening of the arteries], high blood pressure, exposure to ultraviolent light, environmental toxins [particularly toxic metals], poor digestion and detoxification and nutritional deficiencies.
