Every Generation has its own Mission that it must accomplish. During the pre Colonial time in Africa, the late king of Buganda Ssuuna II and other African kings, there mission was to welcome the foreigners, business communities from Europe and religious leaders to introduce civilization and development in Africa.
The times of king (kabaka) Basamula Mwanga II of Buganda kingdom and Omukama Kabalega of Bunyoro Kingdom…there generational Mission was to try and defend the Independence of their Nations and all of Africa in general.
The generation challenge of the fallen presidents of Uganda, Sir Edward Muteesa II, Iddi Amin, Dr. Milton Obote, Paul Muwanga, Godfrey Binaisa, Professor Yusufu Lule and Ben Kiwanuka was to make sure that they take Uganda and Africa at large to Independence….
President Museveni and his cohorts had a challenge of taking Uganda forward at the time they took over Uganda’s leadership from late Tito Okello Lutwa.
However the generational challenge of the rest of Ugandans and Africans today is to bring back and instill true Democracy in in their respective countries.
When asked to comment on this topic recently, Uganda’s main opposition leader, Col. Kizza Besigye said Museven’s generation is to protect corrupt government officials, oppress opposition supporters, imprison people without trial and grab peoples land without compensation.
