New KCCA councilors sworn in secretly

The four councilors who were elected this week to constitute the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) council have been sworn in secretly today in Kampala.

The councilors, all from one region of the country are Frank Kanduho, representing the Uganda Law Society, Verna Mwinganisa Mbabazi (Uganda Society of Architects), Eng Karuma Kagyina (Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers) and Denson Nyabwana ( from Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Association).

The KCCA director Jenifer Musisi presided over the swearing in ceremony that was attended by a handful of councilors who were reported to be led by Bernard Luyiga.

The election of the councilors came after court ruled that the authority was not fully constituted to carry out any business due to failure to elect four representatives from professional bodies.
