Causes of flowing of saliva in babies (drooling)

 

Drooling in babies is described as the flow of saliva from the mouth in infants and in toddlers it is normal.

Drooling in babies is caused by excessive production of saliva, which can not be kept under control. The drooling usually starts when a child is introduced to solid foods at about 6 months of age.

But as the babies grow older and older, they learn how to control their secretions and by about two (2) years to three (3) years they outgrow the drooling. But when drooling is in adults, it is associated with mental disorders. If drooling persists in babies over three years old, its better to consult medical experts like us for medical advise and possible treatment.
