The internal affairs minister, Gen. Aronda Nyakayirima has today launched the phase of the national ID registration, making and issuance with the exercise to commence in January next year.
Speaking at the launch of the programmee in Kampala today, Nyakayirima mentions that many problems of crimes are as a result that citizens and foreigners are not registered to truck them.
He also adds that the cross border problems among toehr problems will then come to an end if the citizens are issued with IDs as they will be available data with govt to truck the criminals down to save the country from the confusion that has cropped up over time.
Uganda has had many problems with the national ID projects which has seen the tax payer loose huge sums of money in this project.
