President Museveni recently appointed his wife, Janet Museveni, as state minister for Karamoja. Karamoja, according to sources in government, is gifted by ‘gold’ and oil under its soils.
Museveni’s younger brother, Gen. Salim Saleh, formerly a minister of state for micro finance, is his Senior Presidential Advisor on defence. This post is equal to the post of a cabinet minister.
His in-law, Sam Kuteesa, is the minister for foreign affairs; his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is the commander of the Special Forces at State House, and his daughter Natasha Karugire, is the Private Secretary to the president in charge of Households.
Museveni’s nephew, Joseph Ekwau (son to his younger sister Violet Kajubiri), is the Private Secretary to the President in charge of Medical Services (HIV//AIDS).
His Sister Miriam Karugaba is the Administrator of State House. We hear Miriam Karugaba is scarcily educated and her husband Jimmy Karugaba is the officer in charge (OC) of the Accounts Department of State House.
Museveni’s relative Justus Karuhanga, is the Private Secretary to the President in charge of Legal Affairs. Justus is a nephew to Museveni.
Another Museveni’s sister-in-law, Jolly Sabune, is the Executive Director of Cotton Development Authority while his niece-in-law, Hope Nyakairu, is the Undersecretary for Administration and Finance at State House.
His cousin Bright Rwamirama is a Minister of state for Animal Husbandry and his cousin, Faith Katana Mirembe, is the Assistant Private Secretary in charge of Education and Social Services.
