The lands minister Daudi Migereko reveals that 80% of land in Uganda is un registered adding that this has implications to ownership and investments in the country.
Speaking at the opening of the land awareness week today in Kampala, Migereko asked Ugandans to learn that development on land does not mean evictions but instead brings transformation in various aspects.
Migereko also states that govt will continue sensitizing citizens on land issues to break the negative cultural jinks that exist in people’s minds.
However, the AU head of delegation, Dr. Janet Edome pledges more support to Uganda to finance policy formulation on land related matters.
The week long event is geared at creating awareness among Ugandans on land related issues.
