Africans encouraged to study for masters in Africa.

The MA in African Studies Scholarships are granted by the NUFFIC through the Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP).

In addition, the Dutch Ministry of Foreigner Affairs and the Faculty of Humanities (Leiden University) offer the Research Masters in African Studies two scholarships for excellent students from Africa.

The Dutch Minister for Education, Culture and Science has made four million euros available for excellent students coming to the Netherlands under the HSP Huygens Programme.

There is no fixed number of available scholarships, but the actual number is determined by the total cost of the variable components of the scholarships.

Prior to the application candidates must have been admitted to a study programme in the Netherlands.
