The government of Uganda and Uganda National Roads Authority will this month of December start work on the Kampala-Entebbe Express Highway that is estimated to cost 1.1 trillion shillings.
The construction of Kampala-Entebbe Express Highway will be funded by the Chinese government and Uganda government.
The road to link Kampala to Entebbe International Airport will ease traffic and congestion along the route.
The UNRA public relations manager, Dan Alinange, says the contractor – China Communication Company is already in advanced stages to start work on the four-year long project.
He adds that the government has set aside over 100 billion shillings to compensate over 300 property owners occupying the areas along the road to be constructed.
The 51.4 kilometre road project will have two routes in one, one from Busega running through Nkumba to Entebbe Airport (37 kilometre) with the other route running from Lweza to Munyonyo (14 kilometre).
