Prime minister tough on corrupt officers in prime minister’s office.

Premier John Patrick Amama Mbabazi has revealed to parliament that all office of prime minister officials who were involved in the theft of billions of PRDP funds are going to lose their assets.

Mbabazi told parliament chaired by speaker Rebecca Kadaga that the IGG is already following up on the assets of these officials working under office of the prime minister so as to recover the money.

His revelation was prompted by a question by Gulu woman MP Betty Aol who demanded to know what government had done to the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan for Northern Uganda (PRDP
) officials and measures taken to ensure no further stealing of these funds.

Mbabazi informed the house that all the indicted officials are going to lose their assets in order for government to recover the stolen funds.

Mbabazi also promised to table a statement to parliament explaining steps government has undertaken to resolve the current detention of Lord mayor Erias Lukwago and former FDC president Kizza Besigye in their homes.

He said that already, talks were ongoing between him and leader of opposition in parliament Nandala Mafabi in order to resolve the impasse.
