Some members of opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) have been reported to president Museveni that they collude with some enemies of the state who are working within the government to get money from the head of state in false pretence.

Museveni has been told that some of his workers in government get known FDC members to display FDC party cards and they claim that they have defected from FDC to NRM. Sources say that by mere display of opposition cards at president Museveni’s rallies, the president gives them money as a welcome package into the ruling party.

However, the money doesn’t go to the new converts directly but it passes through channels. At the end the alleged converts share this money with top NRM cadres. The latest of this case took place in Rukungiri.

But the alleged defectors later told Col. Kizza Besigye and FDC party president Gen. Mugisha Muntu that they were only bought by some NRM officials to dig out money from the president. The head of state has received this information and he has directed Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi to investigate it.
