Why our bodies need proteins, carbohydrates and fats?

 

 

Nutrition is defined as the science of foods and how the body utilizes the food. Food on the other hands is defined to mean any solid or liquid which contains nutrients, which when taken nourishes the body.

A good nutrition therefore is the formulation of good health. The basics of nutrition are the following: every body needs 4 basic nutrients and these are; WATER, CARBOHYDRATES, PROTEINS and FATS which are scientifically known as macronutrients.

Water, Carbohydrates, proteins and fats work hand in hand with vitamins and minerals known as micronutrients.

 

Good diet therefore is made up of water, carbohydrates, proteins and fats as building blocks. Eating them in a proper balance enables your body to function optimally.
