The Republic of Uganda is worried as its HIV/AIDS prevalence rate has increased. Dr. Elly Tumushabe from the Ministry of Health says the latest Sero Behavior Survey conducted by his Ministry indicates that the prevalence rate for Uganda stands at 9%.
He says that the prevalence rate for Uganda especially in islands of Lake Victoria like Koome their HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is over 18%.
Dr. Tumushaba says that there are many cases of HIV spread in the districts of Wakiso, Luweero, Nakaseke, Buvuma, Kayunga Jinja.
Uganda’s population is currently said to be the most-at-risk population because many citizens of Uganda don’t use condoms/ play live sex.
