The mover of the motion to censure Kampala minister Frank Tumwebaze, Abdi Chemasweet has disappeared from parliament and abandoned his own motion and left it with the sergeant at arms.
The main petitioners of the motion is supposed to be at parliament to convince other mps to sign their petition but since the day they begun looking for signatures Chemasweet is nowhere to be seen.
Three days are remaining for the MPS to raise 125 signitures for the motion to censure Kampala minister to expire and so far only 20 mps mainly from the opposition have signed the petition.
For any censure motion to be moved on the floor of parliament, it has to be signed by 125 mps out of the total number of mps.
But it’s now 7days, since Abdi Chemaswet and Gerald Karuhanga started the process to collect signatures to censure Tumwebaze but to date only 20 signatures have been raised.
Under rule 98 of the rules of the procedure the petitioners are required to have raised the required signatures by Thursday this week the day parliament is expected to go for Christmas recess.
The movers of the censure motion accuse Tumwebaze of incompetence, abuse of office, disrespecting court orders, among others.
