About 80 people including Ugandans and Kenyans have been confirmed shot dead in South Sudan. Out of the 80, 8 of them are said to be Ugandans.
Gunfire is still rocketing Juba since Monday as South Sudan military forces fighting each other in attempted military coup a day after President Salva Kiir said security forces had put down an “attempted coup” by supporters loyal to his former deputy Riek Machar.
Eye witnesses told us that constant gunfire and explosions are all over Juba and the surrounding areas. The government has arrested many people including ex-ministers eg former Interior Minister Gier Chuang Aluong and former Deputy Defense Minister Majak de Agoot.
The Health Ministry undersecretary of South Sudan, Makur Matur Kariom says the number of the dead is expected to increase because the gunfire is still reigning in Juba. The fighting started on Sunday.
