Every year, with the support of the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGDC), VLIR awards scholarships to students from developing countries to study one of the 15 International Courses Programme (ICPs) or one of the 6 International Training Programmes (ITPs).
Each year, there are a maximum of 180 scholarships available for first-year International Courses Programme (ICP) students and a maximum of 70 scholarships for International Training Programmes (ITP) participants.
These programmes primarily address students and professionals from developing countries.
These scholarships cover all costs.
The application form should be returned to VLIR no later than 1 February.

Candidates should:
- have a study history in agreement with the academic admission requirements of the programme
- not have reached the age of 35 at the moment of their application
- be a resident of a developing country
- not have studied before in an industrialised country have at least two years of work experience
- be proficient in English (speaking and writing).
- When English has not been the language of instruction, proficiency in English has to be proven with a TOEFL- or equivalent certificate
