When you sit in a conversation with some KCCA councillors you pitty the voters of Kampala… Most of them do not know why they impeached Kampala Load Mayor Erias Lukwago.
For example one of the KCCA councilors told me that she voted the way she voted because the Lord Mayor didnt endorse her for a foreign trip.
Another one said that Hon Lukwago had brought Walk to Walk in Kampala, in brief all the councilors were parroting that when they vote him out, Kampala will get tourists!
There is a councilor who says that the Lord Mayor said they didnt go to school. Listening to their conversations forced me to check through the KCCA magazine for this year. But there was no name and photo of the lord mayor. There was only Kampala Director Jenifer Musisi, Kampala Minister Frank Tumwebaze and RCC Mpimbaza Hashaka.
When KCCA drew the structure of KCCA, the Minister came first, followed by Ms. Musisi and her deputy. The Lord Mayor was below them yet he is the head of the council. If you visit other districts, sub counties, municipalities and town councils, the political leaders come first and the technocrats follow. The reason is simple, the voter entrust the politician the power to generate idea.
