The oikos PhD Fellowship Programme aims to advance entrepreneurial driven research in the areas of sustainable management and economics.
To target this objective, the programme supports outstanding international students to pursue a PhD at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
oikos Fellows receive a grant for three years to complete the PhD courses, conduct their research, finalize their doctoral thesis and contribute to concrete sustainability projects related to oikos activities.
Being an oikos PhD Fellow is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
oikos Fellows develop entrepreneurial driven project management skills while at the same time building scientific expertise relying upon an excellent research platform at the University of St. Gallen, a leading European management school.
They can also take advantage of the vast global network of oikos.
Each oikos PhD Fellowship carries a 36-months-grant of CHF 108,000.
The curriculum consists of an intensive preparatory phase of courses (Course Phase) during the first year within the regular doctoral study Programme of the University of St. Gallen, followed by two years of advanced studies and research (Dissertation Phase), which are devoted to the writing of the doctoral thesis.
The Programme intends to promote innovative and relevant research in the field of sustainability, management and economics.
Research topics may address any relevant area within this field.
oikos PhD Fellows may conduct research in a program of their choice within the 5 doctoral Programs offered by the University of St. Gallen.
Each oikos PhD Fellow will be supervised by a senior researcher from the University of St. Gallen and an academic supervisor of the Fellow’s choice from St. Gallen or another university.
Selected PhD candidateswill be supported in finding their individual PhD program and supervisor.
