The Member of Parliament for Masaka municipality Mathias Mpuga pleaded to parliament to focus on Electoral reforms laws this new year.
He said that this should the priorities for parliament when it resumes
from recess.
Mpuga said that the time for elections is nearing and that calls for
parliament’s action in coming up with the laws that can help in having
free and fair elections.
He says that it was unfortunate that the reforms were left out in the
parliamentary business for last year but says that he is optimistic
that they will be handled this year.
He says that currently Uganda is being run under multiparty system but
the laws still recognize the movement system which was abandoned.
