Local leaders in Amuru district accuse the police of asking for a facilitation of 80,000 shillings cash to transfer suspected criminal to the district for prosecution.

Amuru district one of the new districts caved of Gulu district, the courts of judicature are far at the district headquarters requiring long hours of travel on a bad road to reach the courts.

However according to the locals, the police have for long turned this into an opportunity to make money by asking for a facilitation from either the suspect or the complainant for 80,000 shillings to take the suspect to court.

The Member of Parliament for Kilak county in Amuru District Gilbert Olanya and the locals have reports this to anti corruption crusaders in Amuru district for the anti corruption caravan to sensitize masses on the dangers and how to battle the heightened corruption.
