Members of the Uganda Olympics committee have asked parliament to allocate more money to the Olympic Games as Ugandan athletes prepare to participate in the common wealth games due in July this year.
The president of the Olympics committee William Blick made the appeal at the function were the minister of education Jessica Alupo handed over the queens Baton relay to speaker kadaga a head of the common wealth games due on 23rd July this year in Glascow.
Blick says the 400 million given to the Olympics games is not enough to support over 100 athletes who will participate in the games.
Uganda has worn about 44 medals from the common wealth games since 1954 to date.
Uganda will host the baton relay for two days and the baton will traverse over 71 common wealth countries before arriving in Glascow on 23rd July this year.
The Baton relay carries a message of the queen which she will read at the opening of the games in Glascow.
